Amazing Fried Chicken Recipe

Bailey Family Farm fried chicken

Few dishes are as beloved in American culture as classic, pan fried chicken. It just takes you back to how grandma used to fry up chicken for the family.

Ingredients

  • 1 Bailey Family Farm chicken (parted out)
  • Milk
  • 1 egg
  • Flour
  • Paprika, cayenne, salt, and pepper

Directions

Begin by cutting up the whole chicken. You can use parts that are already cut up but you’ll get the most value cutting it up yourself, I promise it is easy. Mix the milk with an egg in a bowl that is large enough for dipping pieces of chicken. In another bowl, mix enough flour to cover all of the chicken parts, probably over a cup but I’m not real big on measuring. Next, I like to add the salt, pepper, paprika, and cayenne. Make sure you use enough of the latter two, even if you don’t like spicy foods, you will appreciate the flavor. I like to mix some in then stir it together until I can see at least a slight discoloration in the flour after stirring. While mixing this together, pour about one inch of oil, I just used vegetable oil, into a pan and put on medium heat. Dip the pieces in the milk mix then the batter and put into the pan, let fry for 10+ minutes over medium heat before flipping them. It really allows for a nice golden brown. Mine took about twenty minutes to cook. All stoves cook at different rates so you’ll have to decide when it is ready. When in doubt, temp it. Trust me, your family will love this recipe.
